Working in Teams
As an early childhood educator, I love to work in teams. We work every day with a group of children, parents, and coworkers. Working together is one key to achieving better results. I am a leader when working with my children, but when working with families, sometimes I can be a follower and other times a leader. As an early learning childhood educator, I consider myself a follower. I like to follow those who have more knowledge than I do and learn from them. I recognize the leader’s strengths and feel confident in following them. I want to work together and collaborate with anyone my teams need.
When I started school, I met some excellent people, and soon enough, we formed a group where we began working excellently. The way our leader leads our group is outstanding. She is instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment, explaining everything we didn’t understand or were unclear about, listening to our ideas, and considering them in any of our school projects. I love working in teams; we can accomplish great projects together, share ideas, provide feedback, and divide the work according to our strengths and abilities. As a strong follower, I ask for feedback from my leader about my work. Her positive input is meaningful to me and makes me feel confident in continuing to do my best. Working in teams is very positive for me because I get support from my leader and learn about the strengths of my other group members.
